Rainwater Harvesting New Zealand NZ

Rainwater Restorers have been specially developed for people on tank water supply. Each of the 3 models in the Restorer range screen water through an 800-micron (pinhead size) nylon mesh filter bag before it enters the tank.

To maximise the life of the filter bag and minimise the frequency of cleaning, we recommend these units be used in conjunction with our Hedgehog Gutter Filters thereby creating a two stage screening system.

With regular maintenance the Rainwater Restorer can be guaranteed to ensure cleaner tanks, reduced filter and pump maintenance, and best of all – deliver cleaner, healthier and sweeter tasting rainwater.

The model featured on this page (the DL95 model) is designed to fit on a downpipe. From this side angle you can see how the downpipe enters the unit at the back and then re-emerges a few centimetres lower down. What you cannot see at this time is the filter bag inside the sump, which screens the water as it passes through.

The 40mm capped outlet on the front is a “first flush” diverting option.Connect a small drum to this outlet and it will automatically collect the first flush of polluted water. Once the drum is full, the water level will build back up again inside the Restorer hereby and once again it will operate as normal.

CAUTION: The Rainwater Restorer has been specifically designed to aid in the screening of rooftop rainwater prior to storage. This water should not be used for the purposes of drinking or food preparation (including dishwashing) until it has been properly filtered and/or sterilised.

Hedgehog's exclusive range of New Zealand (NZ) made rainwater harvesting components including downpipe divertors, first flush,
pre tank filters and plastic water tanks, make collecting clean healthy water easy.
